Don’t Dig Deep Holes At Beach

Beach-Hole-Collapse-Deadly-Reminder-About-Sand-Dangers

We at ivalueSafety.com want to raise the awareness of the hazards associated with digging deep holes in beach sand. Any hole should be only knee height of the individual digging the hole. Holes dug deeper can lead to a collapse and potentially encase the individual digging the hole. A cubic yard of sand can weigh approx. 3,000 LBS and wet sand is even heavier. Therefore, suffocation or bodily harm is at risk due to the weight of the sand. In addition, please backfill all holes prior to leaving the beach to eliminate harm to other beach goers, first responders and workers. Please note that more people die each year from sand cave-ins than shark attacks.
